Day 1
I start my first job today! I didn't think anyone would ever hire me. I get to work outdoors and meet new people. I met my crew today, nine people my age, they seem to be excited but nervous, like me. We have orientation, safety training, and I have to set goals for my "future", though I don't know what thatll be yet!
Day 19
My friend worked at the youth corps last year. She said I'd need to work hard and stay focused, and she was right. We are finishing up a trail construction project today. I learned how to cut tread and put in drainage dips to help control erosion. Even though it's hard work, I still like it. I love my crew. They keep me going.

Day 56
Tonight is the last night. I'm sad my session is over, but I'm happy that I accomplished so much and made new friends. This beats flipping burgers or working retail. I can't wait for next year maybe I'll be a crewleader and even a park ranger someday...
