CYCA acknowledges that we are present on and our corps serve on the traditional and unceded territories of the Ute, Arapahoe, Cheyenne, Lakota, Apache, and Comanche Peoples and we recognize the history of colonization, oppression, genocide, and racism that led to their forced removal. We honor them and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future, and all those who have stewarded the land, air, and water for generations. Furthermore, we affirm that this acknowledgement expresses our commitment to support the continual liberation of the truth and dismantling of colonial mindsets while striving for a non-oppressive and anti-racist society. We all own the responsibility to continue working to change the systems that allow injustice and inequity to exist.
